Fitness enthusiasts gave up their Sunday morning to take part in a three-hour aerobaton in Sprowston for Breast Cancer Research.
The event on February 24 was arranged by community fitness instructor Julia Thaxton, sister of boxing champion Jon Thaxton, who came along to give his support.
The event took place at Tusting Close Scout Hall where Julia runs fitness classes three times a week. Everyone paid £5 to take part and including donations the event has raised £252, with donations still coming in.
Julia headlined the event with brother Jon giving up his time to deliver a boxing master class and Emma Jermy delivering rhythmic movement.
“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event giving 100% throughout,” said Julia, adding: “I am really proud of everyone who has given up their time to take part, it was a tough challenge and everyone worked non stop for the whole three hours full of enthusiasm.”
Julia of Thorpe St Andrew has not always been the fitness fanatic she is now. From the age of 18 – 23 Julia became a couch potato and pilled on the pounds. It wasn’t until brother boxer Jon Thaxton encouraged her to fulfill her dream and become a fully qualified fitness instructor.
“It was the best thing I have ever done, I am fit and healthy, self motivated and passionate about making a difference. When people come to my class I have one hour to inspire and motivate, anything is possible if you have the determination and belief”.
Breast Cancer Research is my chosen charity because I have ladies in my class who have beaten Breast Cancer and to me they are my inspiration.
Keep Fit Classes are held at Tusting Close, Scout Hall, Sprowston on Tuesday 5.45 & Thursday 6.30 also Saturday mornings at 9am. For more information email Julia.firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07775656424
