The children at a local nursery have been thinking of others – collecting food and other essentials for those in need.
Before the restrictions tightened, the little ones at Dandelion Education in Aylsham and Eaton were bringing in food to donate to local foodbanks, demonstrating that community spirit and kindness were alive and well.
“Dandelion has been asking parents to bring in anything they can spare to share with foodbanks who are struggling to meet increasing needs,” said managers Hayley and Emma. “We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our families. Their kindness has extended to offers of voluntarily working with us to support the care of key worker children.”
Once restrictions are lifted, they plan to keep the efforts up – putting a box outside so collections can continue.
In the meantime they plan to post online “mini Dandelion” sessions from Friday onwards, covering maths, phonics, cooking and other subjects so parents are asked to watch out for more information.
