Keeping the vulnerable warm in North Norfolk

Winter Warmth packs are being handed out by North Norfolk District Council to 300 to residents across the district.

Deaths due to cold weather increase by almost 20% during the winter and many of these deaths can be prevented if those at risk are able to keep themselves warm by heating their homes, wearing warm clothing and staying active.

NNDC is working with a number of health and voluntary sector organisations to ensure those residents more likely to be affected by the cold weather receive a Winter Warmth pack. The packs include a range of products and information, including gloves, a hat, socks, a hot water bottle, insulated mug and a room thermometer.

For further information and advice concerning energy efficiency in the home, please contact NNDC Housing Services on 01263 516315.

Additional services to support vulnerable residents are available all year round from statutory agencies in Norfolk.  See www.norfolk.gov.uk for details.
